Let me be honest with you.

When I first started marketing on Facebook, I was completely clueless. I figured if I just created content — good content, in my opinion — people would show up, engage, and buy. Simple, right?

Well, not quite.

Sure, a small group seemed to enjoy it. Maybe 5% of my followers liked or commented. But the rest? Silence. And the cost of creating content? It added up fast. I was spending thousands and getting back maybe a few dozen bucks. It felt like shouting into a void.

I was on the edge of quitting.

But something unexpected happened that completely flipped the script.

I started paying attention to the comments on my posts. People weren’t just liking or sharing — they were asking questions. Not about the content itself, but about how they could better understand it.

They wanted cheat sheets. Diagrams. Quick how-tos. Even video versions.

That’s when it clicked.

The Shift That Changed Everything: Repurposing

I decided to test something.

I took articles I had already written — ones that hadn’t performed all that well — and transformed them into other formats:

  • Short videos with voiceovers and simple slides
  • Infographics and charts
  • Cheat sheets and quick-reference PDFs

Then I started sharing them on platforms that fit each format:

  • Instagram and Pinterest for visuals
  • YouTube for videos
  • Facebook for all of it

I even submitted some to StumbleUpon (back when that was still around).

The results were hard to ignore.

More views. More shares. More people signing up for my webinars. Even affiliate product sales started trickling in. And all I had done was breathe new life into content I had already created.

Why Repurposing Works

Every time you repurpose, you increase your chances of being seen. One blog post becomes five new pieces of content. That means more platforms, more engagement, and more exposure.

But here’s the key — each piece should point back to the others. That way, your audience is reminded of your message no matter where they find you. It reinforces your brand, builds trust, and gives them multiple ways to connect.

Let me ask you something.

How many blog posts, articles, or videos have you already created — and then let sit there collecting dust?

Chances are, you’re sitting on a goldmine.

A Word of Warning

There’s a right way and a wrong way to repurpose content.

If you rush it or create low-effort material just to check a box, you could hurt your credibility. But if you take the time to tailor each version to its platform — and add genuine value — you’ll stand out in a noisy feed.

I wrote a full guide on how to do this the smart way. It walks you through how to:

  • Repurpose faster without cutting corners
  • Stretch one article into five different assets
  • Use content strategically to drive traffic and sales

If you’re serious about getting more from the work you’ve already done, this might be the most overlooked strategy in your toolkit.

Because sometimes, the breakthrough you’re looking for isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing smarter.
